Project Spotlight

UVA Speaks

“UVA Speaks” is an online archive compiling the prominent speakers who have visited the University of Virginia. It is a timeline of important speakers who have visited grounds over the years and will also eventually highlight upcoming and current speakers. It organizes this information based on speech date and topic.

The project director, Adair Ziegler, was the project leader for a team of students who decided to create an online archive of past and current speakers at UVA last semester. Her Media Studies class (MDST3559), began this public works project to promote the ideals Jefferson started long ago in with Academical Village as a place encouraging pursuit of learning and interaction amongst a wide variety of fields.
