The University of Virginia Federalist Society, a student organization at the School of Law, hosted the 2011 Federalist Society Student Symposium at the University of Virginia. The Federalist Society is a nationwide network of law students and lawyers concerned about the legal order. The U.Va. chapter advances the mission of the Society by hosting lectures and debates on grounds. Each year the Society holds a Student Symposium at a top-ranked school, which brings 500 to 1,000 students to the host school for two days of discussion and debate of timely legal issues. The Student Symposium provided a unique and exciting opportunity for students, exposing them to a wide variety of speakers, topics, and viewpoints.
