With $60,000 in funding from the Jefferson Trust in 2016, project directors leverage 3D-Bioprinting machines to train the next generation of scientists, engineers, and doctors in this technology and maximize 3D-bioprinting’s potential impact in surgical planning and the design of dental prosthetics.


‘Medical Innovation + Human-Centered Design’ Program

With $71,463 in funding from the Jefferson Trust in 2016, the Medical Innovation & Human-Centered Design program trains UVA medical students in human-centered design or “design thinking” and provides real-world opportunities to apply these principles, tools, and procedures.
