Every year, two club sports are chosen to receive the Intramural-Recreational Award sponsored by the Jefferson Trust. The IM Rec Award is based on University representation and success in terms of competition, performance, the club’s compliance with departmental regulations and community service or other achievements.
Club Sports play other colleges and universities, but are not part of the NCAA or ACC. They request funding from student council, and practices and games are determined by club officers.
Club Sports membership must be 100% University affiliated. Club sports are open to the beginner as well as the advanced performer. Members have the opportunity to become involved with leadership and decision-making for their clubs. All club sports are student-governed by an elected slate of officers.
