The Jefferson Trust is proud to recognize and celebrate excellence across the University community through the annual presentation of five awards:
This award was established to be conferred annually upon that member of the faculty who has, over a period of not fewer than ten years, excelled as a classroom teacher, shown unusual concern for students, and made significant contributions to the life of the University.
Named in honor of longtime University professor and administrator Ernest H. Ern, this award is to be conferred annually upon that member of the student body who has recognition in the academic community for leadership and for his or her concern in preserving the traditions of the University.
This award was established to recognize a member of the University community who has exhibited leadership qualities which serve as an inspiring example to his or her colleagues and other members of the University community.
Every year, two club sports are chosen to receive the Intramural-Recreational Award sponsored by the Jefferson Trust. The IM Rec Award is based on University representation and success in terms of competition, performance, the club’s compliance with departmental regulations and community service or other achievements.
The annual Madison Lane and Rugby Road Charitable Trust Visual Arts Prize is intended to expand students’ opportunities for creative expression and to showcase significant accomplishments in the Arts. The prize will award one outstanding undergraduate or graduate artist $2,500.
