Undergraduate Student Opportunities in Academic Research (USOAR)

Undergraduate Student Opportunities in Academic Research (USOAR) places students as research assistants with U.Va. faculty members and targets students who have not previously participated in research. The goal is to expand the program to 30 students in 2014-15 and 50 students in 2015-16. The aspiration is to serve at least 100 students each year by the 2019–2020 academic year. Almost 90% of the funding requested from the Jefferson Trust will pay wages to students, including undergraduate and graduate students who will support the program.
