Project Spotlight

Planning Jefferson Institute for Engaged Youth

UVA’s social mission to the Commonwealth and contemporary alignment with Jefferson’s ideal of an educated citizenry supports deepening institutional commitment to translational science, effective policy, and direct and meaningful contributions to the public welfare. The establishment of a pan-university institute focused on youth as assets can further distinguish UVA in relation to its mission of research, teaching, and public service. During the planning phase for the new pan-University Institute for Engaged Youth to promote scholarship, policy analysis, programming, education, and service focused on youth as assets we will: 1) articulate the vision and scope of the institute, 2) engage faculty and students across Grounds, and 3) identify and engage a range of stakeholders and partners.
