Project Spotlight

Development of a new patient imaging technique based on nuclear resonance fluorescence

The grant plans to develop this technology as a tool for imaging and tumor targeting during radiation treatment of cancer.  The technique proposed here is a new and completely unexplored medical imaging technique with very high potential benefits. The new technique proposed has the potential to provide unprecedented soft tissue and tissue-to-tumor contrast, which will yield much improved tumor identification and targeting necessary in radiotherapy treatment.
