Design-Driven Manufacturing Studios

Criteria for American architectural education includes comprehension of the technical aspects of building systems and materials, comprehension of constructability, and application of this knowledge to architectural solutions. Through Design-Driven Manufacturing Studios, it is proposed that these criteria will be met and extended by allowing undergraduate students to collaborate on innovative, realistic projects with local industry experts. Jefferson Trust funding will allow undergraduate students the opportunity to engage in university research while providing them with unique preparation for material innovation in their design careers.
